An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
